Honiton Town Council meeting this evening

Tonight's full meeting at Honiton Town Council promises to be a momentous occasion.

What with a jam-packed and somewhat explosive agenda, the fact that this marks the first in-person meeting since March 2020 and the attendance of nine newly elected members – as far as town council business goes, this is fairly major.

It should be noted that Honiton Nub News will be in attendance at the Beehive live-streaming the meeting from 7pm via our Facebook page, where recordings of all previous meetings can also be found in the video section.

Access the agenda pack here.

Motions being put forward include:

Vote of no confidence in the mayor:

Due to 'many difficulties experienced' on the past two years, current Mayor Cllr John Zarczynski is being requested to resign with immediate effect.

Focus on Governance structures:

In order to address 'the large number of issues' that have arisen over the past two years, all aspects of council proceedings should undergo a review.

Working with the community:

Establish a programme of weekly council surgeries in a publicly accessible place in the town centre.

Review of the council's complaints procedure.

Review of press media policy.
