Stephen Edmund Dudley Fortescue

FORTESCUE - STEPHEN EDMUND DUDLEY. Passed away peacefully on the 8th August 2020 at the age of 99 years.

Beloved husband to Henrietta Barbara and a much loved father to Ann and Stephen, grandfather to Alex and Vicky and step-father to Stephen and Adrian.

A solicitor in Leatherhead and Bookham for over 40 years, as well as a historian and author. Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.

Chairman of Leatherhead District Council. Always actively involved in local government and politics, supporting local organisations and charities both in Surrey, and in Devon where he moved later in life.

Also a keen supporter of The Children's Society, founded by his grandfather, culminating in the reward of a "Honorary Vice Presidency."

Due to the current restrictions, there will be a private burial service at Awliscombe.
