A huge fly-tipping incident near Honiton was cleared today (Friday 7 January) by East Devon District Council.

It comes after more than 15 fridges, as well as glass and other refuse, were dumped near Shute.

The district council said that its REACT and Streetscene teams were busy today dealing with the 'vast amount', and have asked anyone who has any information or who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

Fly-tipping is punishable by up to two years' imprisonment and up to a £50,000 fine upon conviction - and the East Devon District Council says that it always looks 'to catch and prosecute those committing it'.
