Honiton Fire Station warn residents to check for appliances posing a fire risk

The washing machine manufacturer, Whirlpool, is recalling certain models of washing machines made under the Hotpoint and Indesit brands between 2014 and 2018.

This is due to the appliances posing a fire risk and being unsafe to use.

Click the red button below to check whether your washing machine is affected or phone 0800 316 1442.

If you discover that you have one of the specified machines, the advice of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is to unplug the appliance and not use it until it has been repaired or replaced.

They estimate that one in 60 homes may have a recalled Hotpoint or Indesit washing machine and are urging people to check that friends and family do not own a machine at risk of catching fire.

If you would like further home safety advice, please call 0800 05 02 999 to arrange a free Home Safety Visit by one of our trained technicians.
