The allotments off Battishorne Way are now complete, Honiton Town Council has said.

Afters 'several years of hard work' by councillors, staff and workers from Banks Construction Ltd, as many as 36 plots are now ready for use on land offered by Combe Estate.

The allotments were allocated in an open meeting on 16 September, and the new holders of the allotments will be moving onto their plots in the next few weeks.

Terry Darrant and Cllr Fiona Hanratty, Co-Chairs of the Allotment Working Group, said: "The residents of Honiton have waited a long time for allotments, and we are delighted that they are now able to start growing their own fruit and vegetables.

"We hope very much that they will have a very productive year."
