Racist graffit has been sprayed on the wall of The Volunteer pub in Honiton - and police have a description of a suspected culprit.

Officers think it was done at around 5.30am this morning (Wednesday, September 22) and they're asking any witnesses to come forward.

They're particularly keen to hear from a man and a woman with a bicycle, who may have seen what happened, and from any drivers who went past at the time.

The suspect is a white man, aged between 25 and 30 with a stocky build. He was wearing dark coloured clothing including a long-sleeved top and carrying what looked like a dark coloured holdall/bag.

He came from the general direction of Mill Street and left in the same direction.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help the police investigation is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting crime reference CR/082308/21.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or via the charity's website.
