Totally Locally Honiton is a newly established initiative in the town, aimed at supporting local businesses, with the first-ever Fiver Fest event coming up.

From October 10 to 23, lots of independent businesses and shops will be offering special deals costing just a fiver. It is to encourage footfall on the High Street and give local traders a boost in these challenging times.

It also helps to create awareness of what is available in the town. Once people start supporting local they discover the multiple benefits and new, positive habits are formed - breathing life into the community.

Honiton Nub News spoke to one of the organisers, Kate Dixon, who told us: "Totally Locally is not funded, it's not a big organisation and is not connected to any organisation or government initiative; it runs on the help, time and effort put in by all the amazing people involved.

"The group is such a fantastic opportunity for businesses to come together to create a support network and for consumers to be reunited with lost local spirit.

"The Fiver Fest is an event being run by Totally Locally and is a perfect example of this.

"Between the 10-23 October, local shops and services are joining up to offer certain skills and wares for just £5 so if you're in the area during those two weeks you'll definitely be grabbing yourself some bargains!"
