Honiton residents struggling to pay bills or buy food and other essential items can get help from the district council's Household Support Fund this winter.
It comes as part of a £500m Government programme, of which EDDC has been given £142,286 to help residents.
It will run until 31 March 2022.
Councillor Megan Armstrong, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Homes, said: "This council is dedicated to helping as many residents as it can, and we understand that people from all walks of life have been affected by the pandemic.
"The authority's aim is to help support East Devon residents, by identifying and addressing the root causes of poverty and financial hardship by maximising income, minimising expenditure and working with partners, including those in the voluntary sector to achieve this."
Who can apply?
The scheme has reportedly helped both employed and unemployed residents, whether or not they own a home.
To apply you must be over the age of 16, live in East Devon (as your main residence), and be 'without sufficient resources to meet your immediate short-term needs'.
