Honiton welcomed the return of the Carnival on Saturday and saw the Christmas lights being turned on.

It comes as last year's celebrations were cancelled due to the pandemic.

The procession set off from Ottery Moor Lane and it then continued up the high street. Large crowds were assembled to see the procession.

Karen Wilson, Secretary of Honiton Carnival, described the evening: "The atmosphere in the town was quite magical and it was wonderful to see so many people."

Rev. Sue Roberts blessed the Christmas tree and the tree's lights were turned on by Dave Retter, the town crier, in recognition of his services to Honiton.
