Town Council purchase a sensory tent for Honiton Baby and Toddler Group

Honiton Town Council have bought a sensory tent for Honiton's Baby and Toddler Group, which has been run by the same lady for 28 years. They used it for the first time this week.
The Baby and Toddler Group applied to the council for a grant, which was accepted.
Di Virgin has been running the group for 28 years. She took it over from other parents after their children started to attend school.
Di told Nub News: "I've got a great team of parents who help regularly.
"My right-hand woman at the moment is Hannah, who runs the group if I'm unavailable.
"We provide a friendly space where parents can come and watch their children play whilst they enjoy a cuppa. It also provides the chance to develop new friendships, for both parents and children.
"The new sensory tent provides a calm space for the children to chill, it also helps improve their general awareness."
Children with special needs and learning difficulties will find the sensory tent particularly rewarding.
The playgroup runs in the CUB building, on School Lane in Honiton.
The sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.30am and 11.30am.
It costs £1.50 per family to come along, which includes tea and biscuits (please bring your own mug.)
