A new hair salon opening at number 48 on the High Street celebrated officially opening today, with Town Cryer, Dave Retter, in attendance to provide the ceremonial cry.

Hairstylist, Lorraine Leece, decided to bite the bullet and go-it alone with L'Reigns, having occupied a space within another salon in the town centre for the past seven and a half years.

She told Honiton Nub News: "I was browsing the internet one night and saw the advert for the shop.

"It got me wondering about setting up a business alone, and after 31 years in the industry I decided that this was the time.

"If not in the midst of a pandemic, then when?"

Lorraine confessed that the venture wasn't so much the realisation of any dream, but rather the opportunity arose and she thought 'why not'.

"I was very happy being self-employed where I was working before, but this came up and I decided to go for it.

"I'm excited to have my own salon on Honiton High Street and hope to be part of rejuvenating this end of town more."

L'Reigns offers all manner of hairstyling, both ladies and gents. Children are also welcome. For more information click here for L'Reigns Facebook page and Instagram page.
