1st Honiton Scout Group Leaders and Honiton Forward Members got together this morning to clear the bit of land by the traffic lights on Dowell Street.

Group Leader, Helen Turner said: "We cleared away all the old weeds and swept up, as well as replanting the three planters.

"The land is now clean and tidy and we have already had comments about how nice it is to look at now whilst waiting at traffic lights."

Mark Tredwin and the Scout Group are also clubbing together to raise awareness of Polio, with Mark racing his car at Thruxton this weekend.

Helen continued: "Purple 4 Polio is the theme, so we have planted 80 large purple crocus bulbs in each of the planters, which will flower in the spring, and have planted purple viola plants for colour now.

"Thanks to everyone that helped this morning."
