A Honiton nursing home has come up with a genius way of staying cheery in the current crisis.

Staff at Honiton Manor Nursing Home held a 'Circus Day' which saw them dress up as clowns, perform tricks with hula-hoops and (try to) juggle.

Residents were encouraged to join in - you can see videos uploaded on the Honiton Manor Facebook page.

Nub News spoke to Nurse Jordan Woodruff, who said: "We are always bouncing ideas off each other - myself, Home Manager Jayne Cann and Head of Care, Lauren Kilduff.

"That's how we came up with Circus Day. We did indoor gardening with residents the other day.

"We're always thinking up fresh ways to entertain and engage with residents, but especially at the moment as we are confined to the house and not allowed visitors.

"As a home we are managing in the current situation very well.

"All the staff are pulling together and doing their best to make each day different."
