'Severe gales' are forecast for the Honiton area this weekend and the Met Office has issued a two day weather warning.

A yellow weather warning for high winds is in place for Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9.

According to the Met Office we can expect:

-Delays to road, rail, air and ferry travel.

-Coastal routes and seafronts will be affected by spray and large waves.

-There is also a chance some roads and bridges may be closed.

-There is a chance of localised power cuts and mobile phone signal outages.

-There is a 'slight chance' of damage to buildings.

Tomorrow we can expect fog in low lying areas in the morning but an otherwise dry day with light winds and some spells of sunshine in the afternoon.

The outlook for Friday to Sunday is much less promising. Friday will be wet and windy, with winds increasing in strength as the day goes on.

It will be cloudy with rain and strong winds on Saturday with the poor weather expected to intensify as the day progresses.

The worst of the weather is expected on Sunday. The Met Office is currently predicting 'heavy showers' with 'severe gales'.
