Hospiscare is holding a fundraising Plant Sale later this year and they are looking for people to grow flowers and plants to donate.

The Ottervale Friends of Hospiscare are organising a Bumper Plant Sale which will take place on May 20 at The Institute in Ottery St. Mary.

The charity are hoping to receive as many donations as possible of indoor and outdoor plants, including herbs, salads and vegetable plants. They are also collecting gardening-related donations for the raffle and homemade jams, preserves and cakes to sell as well.

The organisers are hoping to repeat the success of last year's Plant Sale, which raised £2,500.

Toni Hiscocks is East Devon's Hospiscare community fundraiser. She tod Nub News: "In 2022 The Otter Vale friends of Hospiscare, the local Hospiscare fundraising group, held their first Plant Sale.

"The sale was a phenomenal success: the atmosphere was electric and the fundraiser raised £2,500 in 2 hours.

"It was very busy and so well supported by the community with scores of people growing plants for us, the community really got behind us. It was an emotional morning, it really shows how much people care and want to help."

Any plants to be donated need to be at the Institute Ottery St Mary by 8:15am (at the very latest) on the morning of the sale
