B! Health & Fitness Charity Party 2019

By Guest 17th Sep 2021

A local Health Club recently held a Charity Ball and Auction in order to raise funds for Dementia Support Groups in Honiton and Lyme Regis. The event which was organised and hosted by B! Health & Fitness was a great success and raised £3,000.

B! Health Fitness owner, Craig Bernhardt, said "We have been overwhelmed by the support of local companies who donated prizes and their services to help the evening run smoothly. The auction prizes were superb and we can't thank our guests enough for their generosity".

All 120 tickets for the charity party were sold out. The evening included live music from local band Area 52, food cooked by local chef Hugo Shuttleworth of Old Dairy Catering and then a raffle, an auction and then finally Craig and his team Duncan, Scott and Joshua taking to the stage while guests bid to see the quartet have their legs waxed, before turning the tables on Craig who also ended up getting his chest waxed! But the pain was worth it as the waxing alone raised £800.

Choosing a charity this year was very easy, as Craig explained. "With a growing population that is also living longer, conditions such as Dementia will only increase.

Organisations such as the Honiton Admiral Nurse and Lyme Memory Café are vitally important to ensure support is on hand for those families affected.

It is just unimaginable to think that a loved one whom you have been close to all your life can suddenly no longer recognise you, or where they are!

The emotional anguish must be awful and so we wanted to try and raise some funds to help support these important groups in our local communities".
