'Blue Monday' visit to Greendale Farm for Honiton Carers

Today being "Blue Monday" and the so called saddest day of the year. Honiton Carers went to Greendale Farm. It was the last of our "Walk & Chats" funded by the Tesco Community Grant. Our future "Walk & Chats" will be funded by the "Connecting You" Grant from DCC. We will be using the train rather than coaches for these walks or perhaps a mixture of trains and busses depending on our destination.

We were so lucky with the weather today, we have had torrential rain lately but today we were blessed with a clear blue sky, initially cold with a strong wind, but it settled as the day went on and became really warm and pleasant in the sunshine. We enjoyed seeing all the different animals, two trips around the circular walk, Cuppa & Cake, some retail therapy and a lot of chats. Perfect day to cheer up everybody who needed cheering up. There truly is nothing better than Peer support.

If you are an unpaid carer and would like to join our group, please do get in touch, you are guaranteed a warm welcome, whether it is at our Socials at The Kitchen at Combe Garden Centre, our meetings with speakers at The Methodist Church or our Art & Craft session at Creative Beings at Awliscombe. For further information please contact [email protected] or phone 07974636926.
