Last weekend the Bruv's Bar team celebrated their first anniversary.
The business has come a long way since opening and has had to adapt due to the pandemic. They now serve delicious food such as cooked breakfasts, fish and chips, sausage and mash, burgers, paninis, jacket potatoes and much more.
The toilets and garden have been renovated and they have improved their accessibility with ramps and an accessible toilet.
The company now employs 14 local people, an increase of six since the bar first opened and there's even a new addition to the family, 11-month-old Arianna who loves the bar's scrambled egg!
But Bruv's Bar couldn't have made it without support from local suppliers and customers. They get their eggs from Fowler's Free Range Eggs, fresh produce from The Fruit Gap on the market and meat from Ottery's K&M Butchers to name a few.
Artist Hevlar Von E has provided artwork and Kate Johnson recently offered her photography services for the bar's new website which is coming soon. It's a proper community bar.
Owner and Bar Manager Shannon Hagon said: "It wasn't the big birthday party we had planned before Covid-19 hit, but everyone enjoyed a slice of birthday cake and we decorated the place with 1st birthday balloons and banners.
"We'll throw a massive party when it's safe to do so. My family and I enjoyed a lovely meal while we looked back over the year - we all got a bit emotional!"
She added: "We've had such great reviews of the food so far, so we're really excited to announce we're going to be trialling a delivery service in the local area very shortly. Watch this space!"
Bruv's Bar's full menu can be viewed on the Bruv's Bar Facebook page.
