Cinema set to return to The Beehive for first time in seven months

Between now and Christmas, The Beehive are welcoming the community back with some socially-distanced cinema screenings.

With a 'can-do' attitude, the team at The Beehive have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that everyone will feel comfortable and reassured for the upcoming screenings which begin this Friday, October 30.

The Beehive is now a Covid-secure venue, following all the safety and hygiene measures set out in the government's updates.

"We cannot wait to safely welcome our audiences back into the building to experience the sheer joy of escaping for a couple of hours and enjoying a film on the big screen in all its technicolour glory," said a spokesperson for the venue.

What's On this half term?

This Friday at 3pm is 'Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!' (U) - a fantastic new spy adventure.

Who doesn't love talking animals? Gwen the Cat and Roger the Dog are secret agents who save the world without humans knowing.

A supervillain parrot hatches a devious scheme to break the long-standing truce between cats and dogs, and it's up to Gwen and Roger to stop him.

In the evening at 7.30pm, is a screening of the romantic comedy 'Love Sarah' (12A) directed by Eliza Schroeder and starring Celia Imrie, Bill Paterson, Shannon Tarbet, Shelley Conn and Rupert Penry-Jones.

Determined to fulfil her late mother's dream of opening a bakery in Notting Hill, 19-year old Clarissa enlists the help of her mother's best friend Isabella and her eccentric estranged Grandmother Mimi.

'There are echoes of Fleabag and Richard Curtis in this tale of a mother's attempt to run a bakery that her late daughter was set to open,' The Guardian.

The cakes look scrumptious – this is a deliciously sweet movie in more ways than one!

In November and December, we can look forward to screenings of NT Live: War Horse, Military Wives, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe Back Together and The Secret Garden. Keep an eye on the What's On pages.

What can you expect?

The Beehive will be admitting fewer visitors so you can keep a distance from others and enjoy a relaxed, uncrowded visit.

Only alternate rows of seats are in use and there will be two empty seats between each bubble.

You'll notice a few changes in the building such as Safeguarding screens installed at the reception desk and bar. Staff and volunteers are regularly disinfecting contact points in the building and there is an enhanced cleaning regime.

It is now a requirement to wear a face covering in venues (unless exempt). This may be taken off to eat and drink only when seated inside the auditorium.

Test and trace details can be added during the ticket buying process and you can pre-order ice-creams, sweets and drinks for collection on arrival.
