Commerical Building Fire at Near Godford Cross, Awliscombe

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls reporting a fire at the above location.

Blue watch fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Honiton, one fire appliance from Ottery St Mary, one fire appliance from Middlemoor, one aerial ladder platform from Danes Castle and a duty officer to attend this incident.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed an outbuilding on fire, which was used for storage. Within the building one forklift involved in fire. The crews got to work using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The incident commander increased the breathing apparatus to four to enter the roof space to dampen down hot spots.

The crews promptly extinguished the fire which was believed to be an accidental ignition.
