Tesco Honiton will once again be securing additional promotional and collecting opportunities the weekend of 29 May.

Tesco Honiton, who have fostered a very long and productive relationship with the Kings Centre, have seen a huge pick up in the use of food banks since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Community team manager Duncan Sheridan-Shaw and Steve Masters from the Community Church feel it is vital that the people of Honiton know that the food they donate remains in the local area and benefits Honiton residents, their families and their loved ones.

On Saturday 29 May the Community Church volunteers will be set up in the foyer area of the store and will be on hand to support the understanding of the amazing work the Food Bank does.

We, Tesco Honton, put on two food bank collections every year to support national food bank collectors but the amounts pale when up against the enormous amounts donated to the Honiton Food Bank every week.

Customers wishing to donate food to the food bank can do so every day in the stores foyer.

The Community Church have collection points across many establishments in Honiton and the work they do helps to break down commercial rivalries and builds a greater sense of community connections.

We look forward to seeing the food bank donation boxes flowing over in the next few months and years.
