A group of travellers, who spent the past two days stationed in caravans on Allhallows Playing Field, vacated yesterday evening (June 22).

The council has been at the site since early this morning to clean-up after the group, who left hazardous waste in the public recreational area.

A spokesperson for East Devon District Council said: "A group of travellers left Allhallows Playing Field in Honiton last night after spending around two days on the site.

"The council was on site early today to clear the field of broken glass, litter and other debris."
