Council resolves to co-opt new member with three people standing

Honiton Town Council has resolved to appoint a member of the public as a co-opted councillor at a full council meeting due to be held on Monday, February 10.

According to the agenda released today: "At a full council meeting on the 13 January 2020, it was agreed that the process of co-opting a new member of Honiton Council would take place at this meeting.

"As of Monday, 3 February 2020, three members of the public have asked for their names to be brought forward for consideration.

"These three people are: Mr Stephen Keene, Mr Luke Dolby and Mr Andy Wilkins.

"Each candidate will be given two minutes to state who they are and why they believe that they would make a good councillor.

"Once each of the candidates have been given the opportunity to address members, members will vote for who they would like to see on the council.

"Voting in a co-option is by closed or secret ballot."

Members resolve to appoint a member of the public to act as a co-opted councillor of Honiton Town Council.
