Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a neighbour reporting a fire in a domestic dwelling at the above location.

Fire control immediately mobilised two fire engines from Danes Castle, one fire engine from Middlemoor and a duty officer to attend this incident.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed a fire located on the ground floor of the property. Two firefighters were deployed with breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

An ambulance was requested by fire control as two persons were unaccounted for. Whilst tackling the fire the two breathing apparatus crew located two people within the property. After retrieving the casualties from the property the casualties received medical treatment from SWAST paramedics.

Both casualties were conveyed to hospital via a land ambulance.

The breathing apparatus crew promptly extinguished the fire and ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

This incident is ongoing as fire investigation is still taking place to determine the cause of the fire.
