Domestic Property Fire at Brook Street, Ottery St Mary

Date: 07.03.2019Time: 07:53Location: Brook Street, Ottery St MaryThree fire engines from Ottery St Mary, Honiton and Exeter Middlemoor, along with an Operational Assurance Officer, were mobilised to the above location following a call reporting smoke issuing from a second floor window of a domestic property. Upon arrival of the first crews it was confirmed that a third floor flat was well alight and began rapid entry with breathing apparatus entry into the property. One hose reel jet was also put to use. 08:23 The fire is now out and crews are using a thermal damping down hotspots and checking for any fire spread in adjoining properties.09:43 Final details. One flat has been 100% damaged by smoke and fire and there has been 5% damage to an adjoining property. Four sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, one positive pressure ventilation fan and one thermal imaging camera were used at the incident.
