Drug trafficking is Honiton police's main priority – new policing plan released

Police in Honiton have set out their current policing priorities in a new document published yesterday.
Honiton Police's Connectivity Plan sets out the areas officers are focusing on and who they are working with on each issue.
Drugs are the priority for the town's police, alongside dealing with anti-social behaviour, banking and courier crime as well as enforcing COVID-19 restrictions.
Drugs
"Reduce trafficking of drugs in our communities and safeguard the vulnerable people involved."
To do this the police are working with stakeholders from the district and parish council, housing, health, child and young persons services and social services.
Anti-Social Behaviour
"Reduce youth anti-social behaviour and deal with all associated criminal activity."
To accomplish this goal the police are working with stakeholders from local schools, district and parish councils, local businesses, the youth offending team and housing.
Banking and Courier Crime
"Reduce the number of people becoming victims of online, telephone and doorstep fraud."
The police are working with stakeholders from district and parish councils, housing, the local community and the 'wider police family'.
COVID-19
"To engage, educate and, where necessary, enforce the Coronavirus restrictions."

Recently police in Honiton have conducted a number of school engagement meetings, manned a stand outside the town's Tesco and executed a misuse of drugs warrant.
High visibility PCSO patrols in the town centre and at beauty spots to ensure residents are abiding by the Coronavirus restrictions are on-going.
