Event of the Week: Duck race, dog show and horse and trap rides at Gittisham Fete

Gittisham Fete is taking place this Saturday and it is set to be a lovely event for all the community. 

There will be a wide range of family-friendly stalls and activities to enjoy and the weather looks like it will be sunny and dry.

The fete will be opened at 2pm by the Town Crier, Dave Retter. Honiton Town Band will then entertain the crowd with a performance of classical hits. 

Stalls and events will be set up throughout the village and neighbouring fields. 

There will be a cake stall, book stall, bouncy castle, tombola, ice - creams and even small animals and ferret racing.

Classic cars will be on display and the church will host a Flower Festival.

At 3pm there will be a dog show and categories include waggiest tail, best puppy under one, best child handler and most obedient dog. 

At 4.30pm a duck race will take place in the stream which runs through the village and tickets for this are available on the day. 

Horse and trap rides are also on offer. 

Refreshments such as traditional cream teas will be available.

The fete will be open from 2pm - 5pm and parking will be available just off the Combe Drive. 

Adults are £2 and children are free.
