The family of a Honiton woman who died have gifted the community a mini bus for Christmas in her memory.
The bus was put to good use for the first time today (Dec 19) delivering Christmas hampers to local residents by The Random Kitchen.
Family members, Mandy, Mark, Cloe, Daryl, David, Gareth and Scott wished to say: "This has been one hell of a year for everyone in the community including our family.
"With Honiton having a special place in our hearts and wanting Wendy Woolcombe's memory to live on - we wanted to provide an early Christmas present to the community.
"A few months ago we announced our support for The Beehive and today we're proud to also be launching 'Wendy's Community Bus' for all in the community to use."
The vehicle will be managed by a local charity providing transportation for vulnerable and lonely people living in the area.
They continued: "The bus will be managed by TRIP on our behalf with all maintenance being taken care of.
"Wendy was once a lost soul in Honiton but through support from the community she was able to find herself again and make her own very special mark in the town, something we will always be thankful for.
"We hope the community is able to make full use of the mini bus and get as much enjoyment from using it as possible.
"We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."
Special thanks was also given to Cathryn and Tony McCollum of The Random Kitchen for helping make it possible.
Christening the new wheels, The Random Kitchen delivered hampers filled with goodies to people and families deserving a Christmas treat.
Cathryn and Tony wished to thank all who have supported them since March and The Otter Valley Rotary Club for their gift of chocolates for the hampers.
"We are looking to have our new kitchen in the New Year," they added.
