Date: 05.02.2019Time: 09:46Location: Silver Street, HonitonFire Control received an emergency call this morning to reports of a fire in a ceiling at a business premises an evacuation was taking place.One fire engine from Honiton and one from Ottery St Mary were mobilised.On arrival crews confirmed that the fire appeared to be out on arrival but began work removing roof tiles using a ceiling hook and small tools, to check for fire spread. Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots.Power to the premises was also isolated.The cause of the fire was accidental and duty of care was left with staff on site. These are the final details.
