An annual Honiton event, which aims to bring members of the community together whilst celebrating an important piece of the town's history, needs a fresh injection of ideas and input if it is to survive.

That is the message from Charter Day committee members, Terry Darrant and Dave Retter - organisers of the event, which has been celebrated in the town for the past 13 years.

"We want people to come forward with new ideas for celebrating Charter Day," Dave told Honiton Nub News.

"Numbers on the committee have been dwindling and we are now in a position that if more people don't get involved we can't continue.

"Basically, the event needs freshening up."

A committee meeting is due to be held at The Three Tuns pub on 28 Monday, to look ahead at next year's Charter Day.

Anyone with ideas for ways to celebrate the occasion are encouraged to get in touch with either Terry Darrant on 07725310946, or Dave Retter on 07761926628 before next Monday.
