A yellow ferret with pink eyes was discovered yesterday (11 May) in a garden on Kings Road in Honiton.

The animal, thought to be someone's pet, has since disappeared again and remains at large in the area, or has returned home.

Jenny Mann, who found the ferret in her garden, told Honiton Nub News: "He was a delightful chap, not at all aggressive and other than search the garden for food, he had water and slept.

"We look him to the vet to get him checked out in case he was 'tagged' but unfortunately he wasn't.

"I was concerned that a child might be missing their pet as he looked well-fed and cared for.

"We woke this morning to find he had abandoned ship - as inconspicuously as he came, but left us with some nice memories!

"Especially in these difficult times with lockdown!"

If you have any information regarding who the ferret might belong to, please get in touch with New Street Vets on 01404 42750.
