Honiton: A35 reopened following serious collision near Wilmington

On Sunday January 16 emergency services were called to a collision on the A35, which caused the road to be closed in both directions.

Police and ambulances arrived at the scene shortly after 2.40pm.

The crash occurred at Fern Lane, Wilmington, which is just outside Honiton on the road to Axminster.

Road closures were put in place, place including at White Cross, Tower Cross and Greystone.

According to Devon and Cornwall Police, numerous vehicles were involved in the collision and one person is understood to have sustained serious injuries.

Members of the public were advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes, and to expect delays.

The road was reopened in both directions yesterday evening.
