Honiton: biker badly hurt in three-vehicle crash at Wilmington

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a road accident at Wilmington.

His bike was in collision with a car and a 44-tonne articulated lorry on the A35 at around 1.15pm today (Monday, September 13).

The motorcyclist, a 58-year-old man from Hampshire, suffered injuries described as 'life-changing' and was flown to Southampton General Hospital by Devon Air Ambulance.

The other motorists involved, a 73-year-old man from the Wilmington area and a 33-year-old man from Exeter, were uninjured.

The road was closed for a few hours as local police and officers from the Roads Policing Team examined the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the accident, which involved a Honda motorbike, a silver Nissan and a DAF articulated lorry. They would particularly like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage. Anyone with information should contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting log number 450 of 13th September 2021
