Honiton Carers enjoy origami at Creative Beings
Honiton Carers spent another love day at Creative Beings on Wednesday 23 August.
The morning Pottering with Plants session with Fiona went so quickly. By the time we had our monthly catch up chat, walked to the Agro Forest and Poly Tunnel, where everything has all grown so very much with grapes and tomatoes everywhere, came back for a bit of tidying outside, and suddenly it was time for lunch. Lovely home-made tomato soup with a cheese roll, followed by cakes and more cakes.
The Art & Craft afternoon session was Origami with Val Davies, Sue Holland and their three lovely helpers.
The Origami was actually more challenging than expected, but we managed to make a couple of different boxes and finally a Crane. Well mine definitely did not look anything like a Crane but everyone else managed beautifully.
Val our tutor told us she had done hundreds of them and showed us long strings of miniature Cranes strung together, she had also hung a tree on the wall with lots of these colourful Cranes hanging on it. Very impressive. I think the idea is that we should now be able to do some at home, but no way for me and I think most of the carers would agree with me. Still lots of fun and laughter today and so good to try something new.
Our next meeting is at The Kitchen at Combe Gardens centre on Wednesday 6 September, 3.00 - 4.30pm. If you would like to join us, please come along. For more information please contact Win on [email protected] or telephone 07974 636926
