Honiton Carers enjoyed another successful day at Creative Beings on Wednesday 24 May.

We had the most glorious weather and thoroughly enjoyed our "Pottering with Plants" during the morning with Fiona. Both the Agro Forest and the Poly Tunnel has grown so much in a month, it is unbelievable and it is all looking really good.

We got to pick some flowers to take home too and a couple of the more energetic carers managed to clear quite a lot of our "own" plot, which we are hoping to have ready for Creative Beings Open day in aid of Hospiscare on 10th and 11th June.

We made Collage during the afternoon with Boots Hackman. We copied a live still of a floral decoration and then decorated it. Great fun.

The carers themselves noticed that at times you could hear a pin drop it was that quiet. We were all concentrating so much which of is the whole idea of the sessions, during which the carers can ideally forget their caring role and issues at home for a short while.

Respite is essential for carers to enable them to keep going and nature which nurtures us and make us feel grounded and art & craft are some of the best activities to clear the mind.

If you are an unpaid carer and would like to join our group, please get in touch with Winnie Cameron on 07974 636926 or email [email protected]
