Honiton Carers celebrated Christmas early on Saturday 3 December with a wonderful lunch at The Belmont Hotel, Sidmouth. This was made possible with the help of a grant from Honiton County Council.

The carers mostly went to Sidmouth by Coach, provided by Stamp Coaches who drove us very safely there and back despite a few initial glitches.

Honiton Carers would like to say a huge thank you to Honiton County Council and to Stamp Coaches for their support.

Honiton Carers enjoyed meeting the community at their two recent awareness sessions. We spent all day Friday 25th November celebrating Carers Right Day at the Co-op in Honiton encouraging their customers to sign up for a Co-op membership card and to choose their cause of the year. Honiton Carers are lucky enough to have been chosen as one of the local Co-op 3 chosen causes for the year 2022/23. The money which will be awarded at the end of November 2023 will go towards Pottering with plants sessions for unpaid carers at Creative Beings throughout the year. Honiton Carers would like to sincerely thank the Co-op and all their customers for their ongoing support.

The second awareness day took place at Tesco on Friday 2nd December. It was great engaging with the community and to tell them about our local unpaid carers support group which meet weekly at various venues. We welcome all unpaid carers who are guaranteed a warm welcome at all times. Honiton Carers would also like to thank Tesco for their ongoing support.
