Honiton Carers enjoyed a right laugh this week

Honiton Carers enjoyed a session of Laughter Yoga with Sue Haswell from Dawlish on Wednesday 10th August.

This was something completely different to anything else we have ever experienced before and for some totally out of their comfort zone.

However, that was the whole idea of the session. Sue worked extremely hard at being super silly and encouraged us all to let our hair down and to try various ways of laughing. Sue explained that the brain registers a laugh whether it is a natural one or a fake one, enabling the endorphins to be released to give us a feel good factor which is extremely beneficial to us all.

We started off with introducing ourselves with our name, a laugh, our favourite food and other laugh, she then had us laughing through our teeth in various ways. She taught us how to breathe yoga style making loud noises when breathing out.

She had us playing dinosaurs and lots of other games 5 year olds would have been delighted to engage in, but fun it all was. We finished off with playing our various pretend instruments making the appropriate movement and various noises to complete a full band.

We would like to thank Sue for giving us such an unusual and delightful afternoon.

Refreshments followed plus the usual raffle.

Honiton Carers next meet at The Kitchen at Combe on Wednesday afternoon 17th August from 3pm onwards. If you would like to join us please come along you are guaranteed a warm welcome.
