Honiton Co-op provides a drop-off point for customers to donate to the King's Centre foodbank, located on the High Street.

Nub News spoke to team manager, Kathryn Baker, who explained that before the box had been emptied yesterday, it had been completely full-up - 'all thanks to the generosity of customers' donating items.

The food is delivered to Honiton's King's Centre foodbank where it is 'made available to those who are in 'food crisis': people who have no food and no money with which to buy food.'

Here is a list of items your local food bank needs:

  • Tinned ready meals, vegetables, fruit and puddings
  • Pasta, rice and noodles
  • UHT milk, long life juice, tea and coffee
  • Cereal, jam and marmalade
  • Biscuits, crisps and treats
  • Baby products – milk, nappies, wipes
  • Toiletries – shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary products
