Honiton Community College's students and teachers are celebrating a 'great' set of results from their GCSE students.

60% of the year group achieved grades 9 to 4 in both English and Mathematics, and 38% of all entries were awarded a strong pass (grades 9 to 5).

Glenn Smith is the Principle of Honiton Community College. He said: "Our 2022 cohort have achieved a great set of results given the trials and tribulations of the past couple of years.

"There are some excellent individual performances within a comprehensive group of individuals, some of which really struggled with the impact of a pandemic, despite all the additional pastoral and academic support we were able to provide.

"Our inclusive approach, working as a community that strives to provide a first-class education for all students really pays dividends.

"It has been a particularly difficult, disrupted and challenging journey! Our teachers and support staff have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future."

Selena Burroughs is the Assistant Principal / Director of Post16. She said: "With these great results I am looking forward to welcoming many students to the Post 16 community and for them to continue their educational journey and aspirations of their future with us."

Earlier this week A-Level students received their results, which were unexpectedly high. Every pupil who chose to apply to university was accepted, and 92% of students were accepted to their first choice. Many of the pupils are off to prestigious Russell Group institutions.
