Honiton Community Theatre Company returns to the Beehive with a brand-new pantomime in February, and for the first time it will include a signed performance

Once Upon A Time in Pantoland is a magical tale in which all the familiar pantomime favourites come to life on the same stage, including Aladdin, Snow White, Hansel, Gretel, Peter Pan and the Magic Mirror.

The show has been written by Alex Jackson, a former member of the theatre company, and it is directed by Katie Haywood.

Charlotte McGrath is part of the creative team behind the pantomime, and she is also a cast member of the show. She said: "Director Katie Haywood and the entire company are so excited that this unique show will finally reach the stage.

"There's a stunning set, a live band, and on Thursday 24 the performance will have a British Sign Language interpreter."

It is the first time that the Honiton Community Theatre Company Honiton (HCTC) has offered a signed performance.

Charlotte continued: "Having an interpreter is a first for HCTC, and they are very proud to be able to widen access to performances in this way."

Jemma Browning from The Beehive added: "Last year we all missed out because of the pandemic lockdown. We're excited that Honiton Community Theatre Company are back at The Beehive with their February half-term pantomime once again.

"Their productions are much enjoyed by local audiences and by those taking part. We're delighted that there will be two BSL interpreters for the Thursday performance.

"The interpreters will also circulate in the foyer as people arrive in order to interpret and direct."

Once Upon a Time in Pantoland will be shown at the Beehive at 7pm on 22 – 26 February.

There will be a matinee performance at 2pm on 26 February.

If you would like to access the signed performance on Thursday 24, please book tickets in the low numbered seats.
