Parent+, a support group especially for the parents of children with mental health issues, is now heading up Honiton Coronavirus Mental Health Support Network.

It has adapted its service in this time of crisis to include a phone line and virtual group sessions.

Nub News spoke to organiser, Sarah-Lou Glover, who said: "We have a group of volunteers - some are trained listeners and some are mental health professionals.

"If people call the main number at The Beehive someone will take their details and we will call them back.

"We try to help anyone who is struggling with their mental health; this could be depression, anxiety or difficulty coping with isolation.

"We have an experienced team who are specially trained to deal with young people too.

"If a young person would like a call they can text Parent+ on 07907 614 516 and someone will call them back.

"This is not available 24-hours a day.

"If the text isn't answered the they should contact one of the National Helplines

"As Parent+ have adapted the way that we have our meetings - we are now able to arrange a small virtual group of four or five people who are experiencing similar issues.

"This is usually for those supporting individuals with mental health issues, however during this unprecedented time we are

extending the service to anyone who needs support.

"We are also joining the Recovery Devon Daisy Chain and would like to encourage everyone in Honiton to make a Daisy.

"It can be drawn, knitted, crocheted and put in their window with a message of support - see the Parent+ Facebook page for more information."
