Winners of a Christmas raffle have enjoyed their prize, six months after receiving a meal for two at a prestigious local restaurant.

Deputy Manager at TRIP Community Transport in Honiton told Nub News: "When Mr and Mrs Dunn won the top prize in the TRIP Christmas draw, they never would have guessed they would be waiting another six months to enjoy their meal for two at The Pig at Combe."

Sharon explained: "I drove them in the new TRIP minibus and the staff at The Pig were amazing, even making a wonderful mocktail for Mrs Anne Dunn as she does not usually drink.

"David enjoyed chatting with the house sommelier, finding the perfect accompaniment for the steak from the '25 mile' menu."

Anne said: "It felt like a beautiful dream. We have never been before."

Sharon continued: "It was a real honour to drive and share the meal.

"Without the generous support of local business like The Pig donating raffle prizes, we would struggle to raise the funds we need to keep going."

She added: "Especially with the difficult time the hospitality industry has had, the way the team at The Pig responded to my request for prizes was amazing.

"This first prize helped us raise over £600.

"I can not thank them and other local business for their continued invaluable support."
