Honiton firefighters were tasked to a vehicle on fire on the High Street today (Aug 12) at around 2pm.

The fire was identified as a mechanical fault and extinguished effectively.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "One fire engine from Honiton attended the High Street after reports of a car on fire.

"On arrival there was a small fire in the engine compartment caused by a seized air conditioning pump.

"Fire crews used one hose reel jet, small tools and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and make sure it was safe."
