Firefighters had to free someone from a vehicle after a two-car crash on Chapel Street in Sidbury on Saturday (6 May).

Crews from Sidmouth and Honiton were called to the scene just after 3pm.

The female occupant of one of the cars managed to get herself out, but firefighters had to free a male casualty using hydraulic equipment.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews from Sidmouth and Honiton attended a report of a road traffic collision in Chapel Street, Sidbury.

"This was a road traffic collision involving two cars, one female casualty had self-released and fire crews released a male casualty using hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools.

"Casualties left in the care of the ambulance and fire crews made the vehicles safe."
