Honiton firefighters tackle burning vehicle in layby

By Philippa Davies 17th Sep 2021

Honiton firefighters helped deal with a vehicle on fire in a layby on the A30 on Friday, August 20.

Arriving at the layby on the eastbound carriageway between Daisymount and Pattesons Cross at about 1.25pm, the crews from Honiton and Middlemoor found the vehicle well alight.

They put out the fire using a compressed air foam jet, a main jet and a thermal imaging camera. Hydraulic spreaders were used to gain access to part of the vehicle.

The vehicle was left severely damaged.
