Local News by Kate Baxter 17th Feb 2023

Honiton Town Council are recruiting a Town Orderly and Market Assistant and the closing date is Friday 24 February.

The successful candidate will undertake maintenance work and provide cover for the Market Superintendent.

Would you like to help make Honiton and even more vibrant place to live, and help attract more market stallholders and tourists? This could be the job for you!

You will be working alongside the Town Council, who are a dedicated team of staff, as well the elected councillors. You will deputise for the Market Superintendent in his absence.

The candidate will work with other town event organisers and the business community. You will help manage the High Street on Market days and carry out maintenance work. Working closely with stallholders, members of the public and shopkeepers, the role is mainly based outside.

You will need a robust and 'can do' attitude, and a friendly nature.

Early morning starts will be required on market days - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Heavy lifting will be required and training will be provided to help your safety and wellbeing.

The role is enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme.
