Retired Honiton barber and founder of The Baton charity has set himself a new challenge, this time raising money for Hospiscare.

Alan Rowe MBE will be running almost 20 miles from Honiton Hospiscare's, Kings House to Exeter's Searle House on Sunday 30 May 2021, starting at 7am.

Alan explained: "As I turned 70 this February, I wanted to mark the 'milestone' by maintaining awareness and support of a great charity that I have been associated with for 30 years.

"With good friends, Sally Bowey and Baz Gray, running with me in support, we'll be setting off early so that the roads won't be too busy.

"20 miles will be an immense challenge for me as I have had a back injury for 16 months, which has given me little chance for training and a great deal of painful treatment."
