Honiton Gate to Plate is returning for a second year on August 10, with Honiton Memory Café set to feature again - this time decorated with bright, colourful scarves.

Last year's event, which attracted royal visitors, saw the Memory Café give out small flower arrangements in donated crockery.

The theme this year is scarves, which will be attached to the stand and given to people who donate money.

Honiton Dementia Action Alliance chairman, Heather Penwarden said: "Our aim is to have a really bright, cheerful stand at Honiton Gate to Plate to showcase all the things that Honiton Memory Café do and the support it provides for people with dementia.

"We're looking for clean, bright coloured scarves that people don't want any more, that we can decorate our gazebo with. People can then take a scarf, that will be new to them, for a donation - that way we hope to raise a few pennies for Honiton Memory Café."

"Last year we sold little china tea cups that we put dried flower arrangements in. So, we were collecting unwanted crockery in the lead up to the event and this year, to do something a little bit different, it's scarves instead. The theme being things that are colourful and bring cheer as well."

If you have scarves that you would like to donate to Honiton Memory Café, the collection point is behind reception at the Beehive up until the day before Honiton Gate to Plate takes place on August 10.
