The trees inside the Millennium Green, which is part of the Glen, have been vandalised.

Several trees have been discovered with their bark ripped off, which will now kill the trees. The police have been informed and are monitoring the situation.

Kassa Retter is a trustee of the Millennium Green. She told Nub News: "We would like to ask the Good People of Honiton to be vigilant as there has been vandalism in the Green.

"Several trees have had the bark ripped off, which unfortunately will now kill the trees.

"We have asked the police to monitor the situation, but it would be good if everyone could keep a look out. The more eyes we have in the Green, the more likely we will be able to stop this unforgivable behaviour."

Honiton Millennium Green is a charity and the trustees need to raise enough money each year to ensure essential maintenance can take place.

The trustees are always looking for volunteers to join groups who carry out light upkeep work in the grounds. You could also become a 'Friend of the Green' and help with events and promoting the charity's work. Donations and sponsorship are always welcome to help support the charity.
