People who use LED Leisure's swimming pool in Honiton can now raise money for charity.

The new challenge, to swim the equivalent of the English Channel (1,416 lengths) from 14 February to 13 March, is designed to raise money for charity Hospiscare that provides end-of-life services for free to those who need it.

Just 18 per cent of Hospiscare's funding comes from the NHS, and the rest from community fundraising.

How can I take part?

Download the LED Leisure app to get started.

Using the app, you can keep a log of how many lengths you've swum, and you can also donate to Hospiscare.

The prize for the full 1,416-length swim is a £250 Hays Travel voucher. You don't have to swim the Channel if it's too much – there are also alternate prizes available:

  • Novice: 64 lengths (£50 voucher draw)
  • Beginner: 424 lengths (£100 voucher draw)
  • Intermediate: 850 lengths (£150 voucher draw)
  • Advanced: 1,416 lengths (£250 voucher draw)
